Growing up, I was absolutely fascinated by classic horror movies. There was something magical about sitting beside my dad late at night, the glow of the TV flickering as Night Owl Theater came on. I can still remember the eerie intro, the creak of the floorboards, and the feeling of both excitement and fear as we dove into those old black-and-white monster flicks. Those moments weren’t just about the movies—they were about connection, imagination, and wonder. That early love for the horror genre never left me. It’s what fuels my passion for Halloween to this day—the nostalgia, the storytelling, and the artistry that makes the spooky season so special. It’s also what inspired “Chillercothe,” my creative tribute to that same feeling I had as a kid: the thrill of the unknown, wrapped in local pride and the joy of sharing a good scare with those who love it too.
